We are looking for a qualified Director of Sales for our Halifax, NS office:

Responsibilities:

Reporting directly to the Vice-President of Fleetway, you will play a crucial role in Fleetway’s growth. As the Director of Sales, you will be responsible for driving all sales functions and operations on a national and international basis. In this entrepreneurial role, you will be responsible for achieving quarterly/annual sales goals, developing distribution channels, building strategic business relationships, and providing vision for all sales strategies and their execution. You will use your highly developed sales, marketing, business analysis, presentation and client service skills to develop and implement strategies that result in increased sales and market penetration.

  • Solid listening, negotiating, closing and post sales follow up skills
  • Ability to rally other people around your goals while using a collaborative approach with management team members.
  • Able to work with a sense of urgency, initiative and drive to get things done with an emphasis on working with and through people in the process
  • Frequent and influential face-to-face contact with customers and co-workers.
  • Independent in taking action on your own ideas and able to resourcefully work around obstacles that are blocking completion of what you want to accomplish
  • Self confident and able to make decisions under pressure while using the ideas and advice of other people to help the process along
  • Flexible for travel within Canada and Europe

Requirements:

  • Post secondary education in business or a related field
  • MBA would be asset
  • Previous successful track record in sales and account management at a senior level for at least 8 years
  • Ability to source new customers and adept at seeing opportunities for growing the business
  • Sales experience in the marine engineering and/or oil and gas fields is preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience in identifying promising and profitable target markets and bringing sales in these markets to fruition.
