Future Openings - Sr. Naval Architect

Reporting to the Engineering Manager, the Sr. Naval Architect is a crucial component of the Fleetway Engineering team who prepares comprehensive engineering change proposals and technical investigations, as well as designs and specifies integration requirements for modifications to ship systems and structures.
Responsibilities:
- Preparing comprehensive engineering change proposals
- Preparing and/or reviewing technical investigations related to various ship systems and structures
- Allocating appropriate resources to projects and/or project tasks; including costing and scheduling
- Selecting and specifying equipment for integration, as well as report writing
- Designing and specifying integration requirements for modifications to ship systems and structures
- Surveying shipboard equipment
- Conducting structural design and analysis using Classification rules, 1st principles and FEA
- Developing specifications for the installation of equipment on ships
- Conducting weights and stability analysis
- Participating in field studies and executing lift-offs
Requirements:
- Bachelor of Engineering Degree
- Minimum eight (8) years proven hands-on experience in ship design and marine engineering
- P.Eng certification or working towards obtaining P.Eng is required
- Experience in Naval warship design would be considered an asset
